No Trespassing

Are Thoughts Trespassing on Your Mind?

We are continually processing thoughts.  Some are unwanted thoughts that creep into our minds and create unhappiness or conflict within us.  Those could be thoughts of hate, greed, jealousy, or fear.  These thoughts can create pain and inner chaos. The Bible tells us some thoughts are actually sin.  The book of Proverbs shows us that thoughts can be sin.

Proverbs 24:9 The thought of foolishness is sin…

The Good News

We do NOT have to permit unwanted, unclean, and unhappy thoughts to live within our minds.  Sometimes there are unpleasant emotions brought on with these thoughts.  We do NOT have to experience these emotions that are connected to our thoughts.  Instead, we can be forgiven of those thoughts and emotions by the power of God.  They can be cast out!   Forgiven!

What Does it Mean that Thoughts are Forgiven?

Forgiven means those thoughts are sent out of us.  They go!  They depart.  They are reduced.  They decrease.  They leave our minds.  They are cast out.   God’s grace power can have divine influence on our minds to make thoughts depart.  Jesus used that power in his ministry.  He also told the apostles they would be endued with that power, and they were.  Jesus taught us to pray to God to forgive our sins.  God will forgive our sins and cleanse us.

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We repent and pray to God to bring his power into our minds to cast out those thoughts that are trespassing on our minds!

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things. 49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
