Sometimes I find my mind racing. You may find this happening to you sometimes also. At times, my thoughts are twisting and turning and tapping out messages like a stage full of tap dancers. Some of those thoughts are replaying bad things that have happened in the past and causing me to feel bad all over again. This endless menagerie of thoughts can be exhausting and can actually be harmful to our spiritual body. STOP THE DANCE!
These thoughts do not have to be allowed to dance frightfully across the stage of our minds. With God giving us his power over our thoughts, we can soon learn to start directing our thoughts. With God’s help, we can learn to send the really bad dancers OFF the stage and hire new dancers to take their place. Let’s begin practicing “Directing” our thoughts. Sit in the Director’s chair in the middle of your mind and begin to observe. Are the “dancers” moving about your mind all beautiful characters? Or do you notice some that are messing with the harmony on your stage?
PRAY FOR GOD’S PEACE TO SLOW THE DANCE! PRAY FOR GOD’S GRACE AND MIGHT TO THROW THE BAD THOUGHTS OFF THE STAGE! KEEP SEEKING GOD’S HELP. THROUGH HIM ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
