The Coming Of Christ A Spiritual Event Of Enlightenment
He will come in clouds, in flaming fire, and like lightening! Christ said they will see him coming in the clouds with great power and glory. Think about this, if Christ is in a physical cloud when he comes to us, would you be able to see him? Have you ever stood in a cloud (fog) and been able to see much at all? This coming in clouds is a spiritual coming within the minds of people or entities. Just like many other times Christ spoke; he was using symbolic language.
We can better understand this if we look at scriptures in Jude. Here, clouds (as well as trees) symbolize entities or people. They were also called spots feasting with them, as well as being called clouds or trees, yet physical clouds do not feast, and physical trees do not die twice. This would mean that Christ is coming within people. Christ will come within people, into their minds. This is an enlightenment, a spiritual coming.
Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
He will be coming in flaming fire. God’s word is referred to as fire in Jeremiah. Consequently, Christ could be coming in the words of God that are being preached to our minds.
2 Thessalonians 1:7,8 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Jeremiah 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
He will also come as lightning. We can read that in Matthew and Luke. In Psalms we are given an understanding of what this lightning will do; it will enlighten us!
Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Luke 17:24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
Psalm 97:4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, Please deepen my faith that I might walk by faith. I pray that you will light my candle, My God, enlighten my mind. Amen
